Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Blog Party!

Ok, guys. These Story Book dies are LIFE.
So. Stinking. CA-UTE, right?! And there are more animals in the big story book collection in the STAMPtember release available right now! And then s0000o much more. All month long, Simon Says Stamp is celebrating STAMPtember. The big huge release is available now and then there are many, many more collaborations all month long. Such a fun party!
Today we are having a super epic blog party where 100 designers share their creations with you using STAMPtember projects, so you will want to be sure to head on over to the Simon blog to see all the amazing inspiration!
For my project today, I created a card using this amazing, super adorable big kitty called the Large Big Picture Book Kitty. I was already a super huge fan of the picture book dies, and now they have come out with BIG ones and they are totally right up my alley. I started off die cutting my cat with Copic XPress Blending Paper (my favorite for Copic Coloring - blends like butter). I then took the pieces out and used the outside scrap of the cardstock. I then adhered washi tape to the BACK of the cardstock lining it up seamlessly so there were no gaps, all sticky surface for the insert pieces.
From there, I flipped it back over and started paper piecing it back into that piece, similar to the inlaid die cutting technique.
Then I began coloring each piece with my Copic markers (YR18, YR23 and YYR27 for the orange blending, neutral grays for the ears and whiskers, black for eyes).
I put all the little pieces back together, coloring as I went.
I then ink blended with Distress Ink a stencil onto a white cardstock piece using the Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil. One of my all time favorites! I stamped the sentiment onto a white card base from Simon Says Stamp Stripe Greetings and then adhered the stenciled piece onto the top with the kitty popped up on the top of the stenciled piece. Boom! Done.
I hope you all enjoy the inspiration you find over on the Simon Blog today! So much talent.
Oh! And I forgot one thing! Here is a sweet little coupon code if you decide you want to purchase any of this awesomeness. How darling are these little stickers?
