Monday is for Organizing: Magnet Die Board
Share
Two houses ago (yes, we seem to have moved a lot), I had a huge craft room. I also had an ungodly amount of dies and needed a good way to organize them where I could actually SEE what I had. This picture popped up in my Facebook timeline back when Dylan was a tiny cute chunky redheaded baby (WAHHHHH 5 YEARS AGO).
I thought I would revisit this organization method as I have been asked a lot about it and have carried it to my current craft room as well, but on a much smaller scale. (declutter, destash people.)
I start by adhering four 3M poster strips to the back of one 8.5 x 11 sheet. Seriously, those things can be used for everything - love them - and they don't ruin your paint or walls. Line them up on your wall, closet door or convenient location in your craft room. Don't worry too much because seriously, I have never had a problem removing these strips and seeing the sheetrock on the wall.
Line up as many sheets as you need. Stick dies on. It's seriously that simple! You could even use a large, cute frame if you wanted to be fancy about it.
I really feel like this is the most effective way for me to craft. I can actually SEE what dies I have instead of leafing through a bin of dies or a notebook. I really need to do the rest of my dies on the other side of my cabinet! The picture above is all my Simon Says Stamp dies, but I also have a bin full of MFT, ELC and other various dies. Maybe that will be a task for this week.
Happy organizing, happy life.
