Hummingbird Love - Design Team Mondays!

Hi Everyone!
It’s Jenny here, and today I’m joining you with a card that uses the amazing Hummingbird Love stamp set, and I’m combining it with probably one of my favorites of all the Erin Lee Creative sets - Incredible India.
I’ve created a video showing you how I made this card which you can check out here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ucaZ9_N9W0&feature=youtu.beI first started by trimming a panel of Navy cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and I heat embossed the large circular shape from Incredible India in WOW! Metallic Rich Pale Gold embossing powder in the lower left. I then stamped the hummingbird image from Hummingbird Love onto another piece of Navy cardstock, using white pigment ink, so it would show up for coloring, as I’m going to be using my colored pencils - you can use any type of ink you like, we will be covering it up in a later step.
I colored in the bird using a selection of blue, green, yellow and metallic pencils (I used Faber Castel Polychromos and Derwent Metallics). I then went back over the image again with embossing ink and heat embossed with the gold embossing powder. This covers over any little mistakes and any pigment ink still showing. I prefer to color then emboss to avoid the pencils chipping away any of the heated powder.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the Hummingbird Love set in Color Blend Verdigris embossing powder - I thought the greens and blues and golds in this powder went great with the hummingbird plumage!
I popped up my hummingbird (which I’d trimmed out) on foam tape to the center of the circle and backed the entire panel onto a navy cardbase. As a finishing touch, I splattered some gold Nuvo Shimmer pen over the panel.
You might also notice that I made a little eye for my bird - it is created using Nuvo Gloss Drops in Simply White and Ebony. You drop the white down first and then add a tiny drop of the Ebony on top. Needs a steady hand and no breathing (or you can practice on a craft mat)!
I love how this card ended up turning out - I hope you do too! See you soon!
