Guest Designer Vera Yates: Floral Peacock Card

Good morning, friends! This month, I have asked the talented Vera Yates over at Ling's Design Studio to guest design for the ELC blog. I have worked with Vera for many years as we used to be on the same design teams and she is a joy to have around in the crafting industry. Her talent is endless and I love to see her creations! She took our floral peacock stamp and some other goodies and made some magic. See below.

Hi there. Vera here to share a fun card. Today, I am showcasing Erin Lee’s beautiful Floral Peacock stamp set.

To start, I laid the Tiny Squares stencil on the bottom corner of my card and color it with some ink. I decided not to stencil the whole background. When playing with stencil, I tend to stencil some area rather than covering the whole background. I just think it add more interest this way.

Then, I stamp, color and fussy cut the peacock. Now and then I go through moments where I just like to fussy cut an image. I find it relaxing. Go figure, right? Once I am happy with my coloring, simply adhere the image to the card base with foam adhesive and finish with the sentiment.

I so love making card with plenty of white space. Especially when I work with colorful image, I feel like the white space provide a good balance where the main image really shines.

To Erin, thank you so much for having me. I really enjoy playing with these fun & beautiful sets. Have a blessed day everyone.

Vera
