Guest Designer Jeannie Lieu: Floral Skull Background

Hi crafty friends! My name is Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) and I’m back to share another card as a guest designer today. Today’s post focuses on one of Erin Lee Creative stamp sets named, Floral Skull Background, that can also be found in their sale section for only $7.99 so now is the time to pick it up. 

Floral Skull Background is a rubber cling stamp, which stamps crisply. To be honest, I was more drawn to the flowers than the skull but I wanted to color everything to see what I wanted to do with it first. When it comes to floral images, I just want to color, I never really plan out my card that I’ll create. 

Once I finished coloring up this image, I decided to fussy cut out the flowers. Originally, I imagined using these flowers for a circular composition but then I decided to cut apart the flowers into four different sections to create a scene card instead. 

For the larger floral portion, I wanted it to stand in a vase. The vase was a really simple rectangle that was rounded off at the bottom. Sometimes for scene cards, I just need to improvise on an image I don’t have. I also added a table for the vase and florals to sit on. I wanted to add some texture so I created a wooden table with a couple of lines. 

Using the “Thank You” sentiment from the Superhero Scrubs, I added it right above the wooden table. To finish off the card, I added a few embellishments around the sentiment. I’m kinda in love with this card!
