Flowers For My Best Friend - Design Team Mondays!

Is it Spring yet? Outside my window it’s dark and rainy and cold, so I thought I’d brighten the blog (and the day) up with a pretty floral card.
I’m using the Erin Lee Creative Sketched Florals stamp set, which is super for coloring, but you can also use it to create subtle monotone images as I’ve also done here.
To create my card, I stamped the main rose image and the double flower in Copic friendly black ink on Neenah White cardstock. I then colored them in with a variety of pale rose pinks and violets, making the rose a deeper color than the flowers.
I also colored the leaves in blue-greens and greys. I then fussy them all out, snipping off the leaves and keeping them separate. I edged them with a black marker to tidy up any edges.
To create my background, I stamped the rose bud image from the set multiples times using pale grey ink and rotating the stamp so the images interlocked with each other. I added some black splatters with black ink spray to add some interest.
I arranged the flowers onto the background and popped them up on 3M foam tape, foam squares, and a double layer of foam tape to have three different levels of dimension. I added the leaves in behind them, adhering them directly to the panel with liquid adhesive and hiding the snipped ends behind the flowers.
The sentiment is from the KoKo Girl Snowman stamp set, heat embossed in WOW! Metallic Rich Pale Gold. (I snuck in a winter set!)
As a finishing touch, I added some Nuvo Dream Drops in Fairy Wings as they co-ordinated perfectly with the flowers, and coated the petals with clear Wink of Stella.
I hope this card brightened your day wherever you are!
